the rogers centre pfft.. i mean come on...its the dome ok, they should have at least called it the rogers dome...bad call in my books...ryan, lyndon and jon t. and i were at the blue jay game on saturday (go jay go) and we were noticing that there were a number of homeless guys hanging out around the dome. jon tupper told us a psycho story about a panhandler who asked him for money and volunteered to do 20 push ups for it. Jon said no thanks and the guy said he was going to break the arms off his glasses and stab his eyes...nice eh? haha...man some of these guys are bit worked up. lyndon says he will donate change for someone who puts a little creativity into it. he wants a clever sign. he came up with some for the street people, and he might just have a market...albeit very much a small non-paying one. he came up with "down on my bling" and "spare bills anyone"...he had more and if i can remember what they were i will add them, so watch here for updates...they were pretty funny.
I did a search online and found that he isn't the first person to think that this might increase donations. it turns out a london group called creativefutures, tried it out with a homeless guy. on average he said he brought in 10 quid a day and with the signs that they gave him, he made on average about 4 pounds a day. (one day he made fifteen pounds for the wishing well sign -
seen in the picture to the right) snaps for being creative!ps. the seats at the dome cost $8 ...what a deal. sure we sat in the very last/highest row in the stadium, and the players looked ant like, but who can complain after an investment like that?
