digital conversion...almost

i boycotted digital cameras for a long time...let me clarify, i boycotted the use of digital cameras for my own personal albums - digital cameras for websites, design pieces, quick referencing - i love! it just seemed so artificial and i just couldn't buy the quality that you can get from a nice 35mm. they come out grainy and so-so. but my hubby bought me one anyways. and at first i rebelled. i was not going to submit to this sacrilige of photography, but somewhere along the line, the complete convenicence of the whole process got the better of me. and some cameras are actually pretty good - they key is to still get them professionally printed at blacks. the unfortunate part is soon after my conversion... i lost my camera. its driving me nuts! i have been 5 months with no camera - hence the shortage of fab new pictures in my entries...i do apologize i am working on searching for loose change to put towards the new camera ...because i certainly can't go back to an old camera ;)

today is september 11th, 5 years ago today we had the shock of a lifetime. it's funny my dad says it reminded him of when they first heard that JFK had been shot. it was like time stopped and the world with it and the shock was so great that everyone can tell you where they were and what they were doing when it happened. i remember on september 11th i was at university and i was on my way to pay off a parking ticket (shhh), i walked by the UC and and i saw hundreds of people staring up at the televisions they had in there. i walked in and watched as the second plane crashed into the world trade centre. it was incredible, and unbelievable. i mean hello, we are north america! it was a crazy eerie silence in the uc - usually full of noise - it was unreal. the day stopped for many, and it really made us all wonder "what next". today i was moved when this morning on my drive to work they played the recordings of the newscasts, and the 9-1-1 calls. it was emotional to think back on that day. and to wonder what if...
