thats me alright. lyndon tells me all the time im an old lady....but i prefer to think of myself as a fabulous nana-to-be! his logic...well the biggest granny thing he claims i do is knit. but i will point out that there is a real trend when it comes to knitting and i think that it is coming back into fashion...im serious! but i do agree, by the time i have grandkids, my knitting will be superior (i hope anyways to see some improvement after some 50 odd years behind the needles). other grandma things i do..i bake pies, and i do a pretty good job at it too! nana rice has taught me that one. grandma-in-training proof #3 - i made jam this summer. and a lot of it. i had grandma mcmillan show me the ropes on freezer jam and so far the reviews have been pretty good. (i have a TON in my freezer should anybody want some) nana wannabe proof # 4 - i love love love shopping for people! gifts are my fav. i love giving them, i put a ton of thought into them...and even though im not financially in a spot to do it...i often exceed my limit because i cant help but try and get the perfect gift. (ps i also like shopping for me...as everyone will attest).
maybe i am made to be a grandma...the one who will spoil, and bake, and knit, and take my grandkids shopping...come to think of it. i kinda like the idea. maybe i can skip the in-between step...you know, adopt a 25 year old. this would really eliminate a lot of the hassle too. a) the kid would be ready to move out b) i could skip the drama of the teenage years c) grandkids would be only a few years away! the only drawback i can see with this plan is the name. basically (to me) the coolest part of having a kid is getting to choose a name...and i doubt a 25 year old would go for a name switch without some reservations...and the thing is i have some real goodies picked out...i guess i will have to suck it up and follow the usual chronology... someday i will get to fill the roles that both of my amazing grandmas filled for me. even my great gram was a cool lady, and i was so lucky to know her... i guess the grandma thing comes naturally when you respect and admire the ones you have. and ps WHO wouldn't want to be like nana rice or grandma mcmillan?!
pps...um just noticed...please take a look at my hair...it seems when i was 3 i had the same harcut i have now! who knew?! i always have been stylish! ;)

I too have been considered a grandma with my knitting needles in hand! ... but your jam making took it to an entire different level! Just kidding! Your jam is great! I think these skills that you are aquiring is only going to make you one cool mom who all kids will admire and wish they had a mom as cool as you! ps. these skills also make you super unique and well rounded!
