the lazy days

well summer is almost over and i cant believe how quickly its flown by! we are enjoying our last weekend at the cottage, the weather is perfect of course, as if to rub our faces in it. i have been completely spoiled by being able to spend the entire month at the cottage. (well timed mat leave - check) i know today we will go to the daily 4 o'clock swim with all the ladies on the point (i am merely a spectator at these events - have you felt lake huron?!) and the ladies will be sad. for my grandma and her cousins the cottage is what they live for. and as it ends i know they start wondering if it will be their last in the health they are in now. this is the place of their youth and what keeps them young still. so today is a sad day for them, and although its not exactly sad for me, i can feel a bit of an emotional dip myself. this not only marks the end of the summer, it marks the end of estelle's first 3 months, it marks the beginning of strictly getting back into shape, another leg surgery for poor little bernicey, and it means the slow crawl to the wintery months which seem to drag so.

...but thats quite enough of the glass is half empty musings...snap to it! we are talking about fall here! the beginning of the far and best best season for fashion, cute jackets, cozy sweaters, and fabulous bags (although this season i do denounce the shoe trends - bad choices all around). the leaves will start to turn those brilliant shades of red, and the feelings of nostalgia for university days will awake. and although i may not be able to fit into the new fashions this season quite as i'd have hoped, estelle is a new size and requires new outfits maintenant! we will also be taking estelley on her first plane trip, heading to florida to check out the rents new pad, and im keeping my fingers crossed she sleeps the whole ride and doesn't require a diaper change for the duration (ick to those dirty mini w.c.'s). there are new babies to meet (nathan, lucas, and ethan we're coming to see you all) and others to see that have grown (irenie, benjamin, blake, brooke, and even noah will be coming for a visit!). and of course there is the NKOTB concert (erin, laura and jasy cant wait! - and to all the rest of you, yes we are cool) there are things to catch up on (josie's wedding and h moon details) and people we just miss - basically everyone!

so ...i guess im actually looking forward to, not the end of summer, but for the beginning of autumn ...and ps....it will be nice to be living with my hubby again too!

Nathan is primed for the meeting with Little E. He's been working all month on opening doors and saying "hubba hubba" while drooling. Have a great weekend. Great read as per usual.
