everyone was thinking it...

everyone was thinking it...but only the lady handing me my biggie dc at the wendy's drive thru window said it. she looked at me and said "you know, you look like a big hollywood star" hahah...i love it. i do. talk about a feel-good moment for me. i laughed and thanked her, lyn says i should have offered to give her my autograph...too hilarious. its funny though cause thats what i always tell myself....ok ok let me explain... im not really that vain.

whenever i feel like someone is staring me down, or when people give you the head to toe examination-o-scorn (usually girls do this...ginas) my first thought is ohmigosh do i look like a fool? am i hideous? is there toilet paper hanging from the back of my pants? (a whole other story ...sigh)...but i can actually make myself sick when this happens, and i needed to do something about it. i mean, i'm a fairly confident person, i think i have a head on my shoulders and a fairly good sense of style, so why let this total (admittedly often self-manifested) visual critique get to me...i mean come on...how can i let total strangers potentially crush my spirit in the blink of an eye?! so i switched my inner monologue from assuming that these glances indicate major loathing or distaste towards me to "realizing" that these people obviously think im famous! they are just staring in order to validate their initial surprise at seeing someone who clearly looks like a celeb in old navy of all places! and they are trying to varify their initial reactions so that they can tell their friends "guess who i saw today!"

so today my encounter with the drive thru girl reinforced this spin i create when faces with such negative situations...and i will go on living in my self-preserving bubble of confidence thank you very much!

ps i tried a bunch of dif pics on the celebrity look alike and everytime i got heather locklear... interesting...do you think they matched my name?
pps. clearly this site isn't very accurate otherwise reese witherspoon would have been a match! ;)
