keeping us on our toes

well my little estelley sure knows how to keep us on our toes. last night she had been asleep for an hour and a half when she woke. i went to her to rock her back to sleep, when she threw up. and i mean threw up! i quickly went to change her and suddenly she couldnt stop. poor thing kept being sick - i was panicked. i didn't know what to do first... change her? hug her? wipe her face? call for help? i called my dad and he said get her over to the hospital. (lyndon was at work)

i hate hate going to the ER and i always think im over-reacting and that the doctors are frustrated that im taking up their time...i think working at the brampton hospital let me see the behind the scenes at the scorn of the workers...sigh. but i was so worried she could dehydrate and frankly i had no idea how to stop this....so with my barfing baby in tow, angela came over and drove us to the hospital. thank goodness she lives so close, i couldnt have driven. the ER was full, and yet i think because it was about a baby they took us after about 20 minutes. i am so greatful to all the nurses there, seriously the nicest most understanding people ever.

the doctor said he wanted to give her some meds to settle her tummy then he wanted to see if she could keep down some pedialyte or else we'd need to do an x-ray. the next two hours of waiting was brutal. the poor thing kept getting sick and falling asleep and waking up confused. she was totally lethargic, no smiles just straight face - and if you know our belly, this is not her at all. i have never felt so nervous.

she refused the pedialyte (not a fan of the sweet stuff - watching her hips) but guzzled the water, and suddenly was herself again! she was night and day better, but i have to tell you although after all the drama, she is fine...i'm still recovering.
